Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires combines the 1-vs-1,000 action of a Dynasty Warrior with strategic elements, including command over units. The title sends players on a mission to conquer ancient China, both strategically and with the sword. In powerful siege battles, commanders can send out their troops so that they capture key strategic objectives, such as fortresses. Players will experience high-risk battles for key points on the battlefield, using fire attacks, war lists, siege weapons, and in some cases, simple execution of set strategies by commanders who order their troops to attack. Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires also features an advanced editor that allows players to create their own officer of choice and, thanks to a system, also interact with the heroes of ancient China in a manner of their own. Players can immerse themselves in the life of an independent officer, act as a benevolent ruler, or act as a mischievous citizen. This allows for a more lifelike and immersive Three Kingdoms world, with ever-changing interpersonal relationships and dramatic events where the characters' relationships with each other are more important than ever before.
