K-Edge developed a CNC-machined upgrade mount for the Trek Segfredo team a few years ago, which drastically increased the stability and performance of the Bontrager plastic mount. Customers demanded the K-Edge option, and we were overwhelmed by the volume of orders. In 2023, Trek updated the one-piece Madone/Emonda handlebar stem with the "Gen 7" version. However, this handlebar/stem did not have the same shape or front curvature and required a completely new mount to fit correctly. To clarify: Gen 6 and Gen 7 bars and mounts are not compatible.
