The tread of the Omni-Wheels consists of rollers whose axes of rotation are positioned at a 45° angle to the wheel's axis of rotation. This allows the wheel to move laterally while rotating. A vehicle equipped with four Omni-Wheels can move in virtually any direction without needing to change the orientation of the chassis.
