The CAN Repeater CAN-CR120/HV with two CAN/CAN FD interfaces can be used to enhance the robustness of the CAN bus with nodes, to physically couple CAN/CAN FD bus systems, or to introduce galvanic isolation of up to 3 kV for greater protection of the CAN segments. The CAN FD repeater provides the necessary flexibility to optimize the structure of CAN/CAN FD networks and frees CAN networks from the limitations of bus structure. Since no bus termination resistor is integrated, it offers flexibility in positioning resistors for CAN termination. A beneficial feature of the CAN FD repeater is that it isolates a faulty segment from the rest of the network, allowing the remaining network to continue functioning. Once the fault is resolved, the segment is automatically reconnected to the network. The galvanic isolation is implemented for both the CAN/CAN FD segments and the power supply, reliably increasing the device's protection against damage to the electronics from voltage spikes. The CAN-CR120/HV is available in versions with and without integrated bus termination resistors.
