iBasso SR2

The iBasso SR2 is a semi-open headphone with premium sound tuning. Its semi-open design dampens external noise, creating an airy, transparent sound with excellent spatiality and vibrant bass. The sound signature of the SR2 is fundamentally true-to-nature and harmoniously balanced. The particularly deep bass is cleanly controlled and has a lively punch. The mids are clear and detailed, with voices—both male and female—sounding transparent and nuanced. The highs are reproduced clearly and brilliantly.

The diaphragm of the SR2 is made of carbon fiber and is attached to the headphone with a lightweight elastic silicone suspension. This prevents vibrations from transferring to the housing, which can lead to acoustic disturbances. The diaphragm can vibrate freely, resulting in particularly full-bodied bass and accurately and precisely rendered mids and highs. A pair of replacement ear pads with an alternative sound signature is included. With this second set of ear pads, the focus shifts to the mids and highs, the bass is subdued, and the sound becomes distinctly more analytical. The headphone cable of the SR2 is a practical 1.8 meters long, features a 3.5 mm jack, and comes with a screw-on 3.5 mm to 6.3 mm adapter. This makes the iBasso SR2 suitable for use with portable devices such as high-res players or smartphones, as well as for home audio systems.
