They can store 15 TB per cartridge and offer HPE TapeAssure for manageability, hardware-based data encryption, and HPE StoreOpen with LTFS for user-friendliness and outstanding performance. The Linear Tape File System (LTFS) is an open format for storing data on tape, making tapes self-describing and file-based starting from the fifth LTO generation. The exclusive HPE feature for data rate customization supports data transfer rates of up to 300 MB/s (native) and further optimizes performance by adapting to the speed of the host system, ensuring uninterrupted drive streaming and enhanced tape performance.
