HPE StoreEver LTO Ultrium tape drives encompass eight generations of LTO tape drive technology, can store 30 TB per cartridge, and offer hardware-based data encryption as well as HPE StoreOpen with LTFS for user-friendliness and outstanding performance. The hardware-based encryption (AES 256-bit) provides easily activatable security features to protect the most confidential data and prevent unauthorized access to tape cartridges. The Linear Tape File System (LTFS) is an open format for storing data on tape, making tapes self-describing and file-based starting from the fifth LTO generation. The exclusive data rate tuning feature supports native data transfer rates of up to 300 MB/s and further optimizes performance by adjusting to the speed of the host system, ensuring uninterrupted drive streaming and enhancing tape performance.
