Hoya HD Nano UV Filter

With regular filters, a coating is not permanent, as it is repeatedly damaged by cleaning with wipes and thus weakens over time. For this reason, Hoya has developed a special ultra-hard nanocoating. The chemically reinforced optical glass is four times stronger than commonly used protective glasses and features a UV cut-off curve that does not affect the visible light spectrum. Designed to protect the expensive lens system of a camera from scratches and impacts, the HD Nanofilter is an essential piece of equipment for photography in extreme conditions. The newly developed coating adheres more firmly and closely at the nanoscale to the glass surface than before. This results in particles with extremely high density being layered onto the glass surface, creating a hard and smooth coating.
