Product details

The Hobbes Fiber Checker Pro is designed for the easy and quick inspection of defective fiber optic cables. It sends a visible (650 nm) strong laser signal through the cable. Breakpoints become visible through a recognizable light glow at the faulty location. Breaks or damages in the fiber optic cable reflect or break the light, indicating the damaged area with a bright glow. The universal connector can be used with common connector types (ST, SC, FC, etc.). With the optional 2.5 mm to 1.25 mm adapter, users can also test 1.25 mm cables (e.g., with LC connectors). The beam can be switched between continuous and pulsing modes. The visible light beam reaches up to 3 km of fiber optic distance (at least). It is suitable for both multimode and single mode links. The testing device requires 2x AAA 1.5V batteries (LR03 / AM-4).
