Product details

Oliver Goldsmith (1728-1774) is regarded as the Irish Brehm. His eight-volume natural history book 'A History of the Earth and Animated Nature', which was first published posthumously in 1774, was as popular in England as Brehm's Animal Life was in the German-speaking world. The writer and physician produced this extensive work on natural history alongside his other activities.
