HiFonics ZXT15D2 – Subwoofer from the Zeus Extreme Series

With the Zeus Extreme ZXT series, HiFonics introduces subwoofers that perfectly match the new ZXT amplifiers with power ratings of up to 13,000 watts RMS. The ZXT15D2 is the uncompromising 38 cm (15") variant – designed for maximum bass power and highest durability.

At its core is the massive triple-magnet drive, whose ferrite rings, together with the chrome-plated steel pole plates, weigh a solid 8.5 kg. The extremely stable, carbon-reinforced triple-layer sandwich diaphragm is precisely guided by the newly developed ultra-stiff RSA surround and a triple Nomex spider system – ensuring that the diaphragm remains stable and distortion-free even at extreme excursions.

For thermal durability, there is a gigantic 100 mm dual voice coil with a winding height of 58 mm. It is made from special pi-CCAR flat wire (aluminum flat wire with copper coating), which can withstand temperatures up to 240 °C and allows for a linear excursion of ±30 mm. This makes the ZXT15D2 perfectly equipped for extreme SPL applications.

Visually, the woofer makes a strong statement with its aluminum die-cast basket, chrome-plated T-plate with pole core drilling, and the distinctive blue magnet protector.
