Gubi Grossman Gräshoppa floor lamp

Grossman Grasshopper Floor Lamp. Greta Grossman (1906 - 1999) designed this Grasshopper lamp for a manufacturer in the USA in the late 1940s. With its straightforward style that does not solely adhere to function, the Swedish designer played a significant role in the development of California modernism. The Danish brand Gubi is now reissuing this design classic from the 1950s: true to the original design, the Grasshopper lamp features a stable three-legged base, with feet that widen into floor-protecting pads. The front leg, which houses the power cord, extends at an elongated angle to the movable metal reflector. The user-replaceable light bulb (E 14 socket, max. 40 W) provides focused light suitable for reading. Unlike the original design, Gubi has equipped the Grossman Grasshopper Floor Lamp with an improved, scratch-resistant powder coating available in various colors.
