BL2 Table Lamp - Design by Robert Dudley Best

The Gubi BL2 table lamp, the smaller adjustable table lamp in the Gubi collection, is available in various versions, including a reflector made of Chinese porcelain that matches the color of the base. Robert Dudley Best was born in 1892 in Birmingham to a family that owned the largest lamp factory in the world at the time: Best & Lloyd. He studied design and interior architecture in places like Paris and Düsseldorf and was very open to modern thinking. Inspired by the Bauhaus and Christian Dale's lighting, he designed his own lamp and convinced his father to produce it at Best & Lloyd.
