The 9464 wall lamp was designed by Paavo Tynell in the 1950s. His already proven method of using perforated brass plates is elegantly applied here to gently diffuse the light. The upward-facing lamps illuminate the walls indirectly, while the white glass disperses light downward. Finnish industrial designer Paavo Tynell specialized in lamp design in the 1930s. He often used perforated brass as a material, creating very interesting light objects that are frequently inspired by organic forms. At the same time, he worked as an entrepreneur in his own company, Taito Oy, and as a lecturer at the Helsinki University of Technology and Arts. He is married to glass designer Helena Tennell, who also works as a lighting designer.

The 9464 wall lamp is a unique piece. The small holes in the lampshade create a special light that becomes a highlight of your interior. This wall lamp was designed for the "Finland House" design house in New York, which exclusively showcases Finnish designs. Today, the lamp is produced by the Danish brand Gubi.
