Genelec 8340APM

The Genelec 8340 is an active studio monitor from the SAM series (Smart Active Monitor). SAM means that the speaker can adapt to the room acoustics. This is achieved through a measurement microphone at the listening position and the GLM software (Genelec Loudspeaker Manager). It utilizes the DSP filters in the speakers to reduce the disruptive influences of the room. There are 20 filters available, which can also be manually adjusted. Particularly in rooms where the acoustics are problematic, the listening conditions can be significantly improved. The high resolution and transparency of the playback ensure relaxed analytical listening. An automatic level adjustment and time alignment facilitate the setup of surround and 3D audio systems. The enclosure of the Genelec 8340 is made from aluminum die-cast. It is sturdy and has a large internal volume. Thanks to the bass reflex technology, the speaker delivers deep bass despite its compact dimensions. The rounded edges of the enclosure enhance localization and spatial imaging. The sound directing ensures linear radiation and a wide listening area. Compatible subwoofers include the Genelec 7370 or 7271.
