The Subwoofer 7050 pairs excellently with the 8010 and 8020 in both stereo and surround configurations. The 7050 extends the frequency range down to 25 Hz with impressive playback quality. This is achieved through the patented LSE design (Laminar Spiral Enclosure). With five inputs and outputs, along with an additional LFE input that can be switched between a bandwidth of 85 and 120 Hz, it meets the requirements for 5.1 productions. The 7050 can also support a stereo pair of 8030 in the bass range.
The award-winning research and development team at Genelec took a completely new approach in designing the current generation of subwoofers. The LSE technology dramatically reduces all acoustic nonlinearities that can occur at low frequencies and high levels.
This is accomplished through the design of the bass reflex channel. Airflow noise is largely avoided. The distortions of the 7050 are as low as those of other LSE subwoofers from Genelec.
