The sleek and aerodynamic Varia RTL516 can be mounted tool-free on the seat post of racing, touring, or city bikes. With a battery life of up to 9 hours, it is suitable for longer rides. The Garmin Varia app allows direct use of the Varia with a smartphone, providing warnings of approaching vehicles.

... The light itself is not overly bright, but it is amplified via a lens. The intensity can be controlled via the bike computer. There is also an automatic mode in which the rear light adjusts its brightness to the ambient light. There is a small red light in each side to ensure visibility across the direction of travel.
