The Varia RCT716 seamlessly connects with compatible Garmin GPS bike computers or the Garmin Varia app on compatible smartphones, providing acoustic and visual warnings of vehicles approaching from behind while riding. The Garmin Varia app can display a live video for camera alignment, and saved recordings can be transferred and played back after the ride. To maximize battery life on long rides, various camera modes can be selected. The sleek Varia RCT716 can be mounted tool-free using a new bracket on round, aero, or D-shaped seat posts.

... Compared to the RCT716 model sold in Germany, the international version RCT715 has a flashing light mode that is not permitted in this country. Those who do not value the camera function are better off with the RTL516, which is only half as expensive. If you only need a camera but no radar, you can buy the Cyclic Fly6. For many, however, a rear-view mirror on the handlebars would also do.
