The lens features ED glass lenses and other advanced lens elements, the surfaces of which have been elaborately polished and provided with a super EBC coating. The high-quality metal housing is equipped with a precisely manufactured aperture ring, which allows an intuitive adjustment of the aperture values in 1/3 steps. The special design of the aperture lamellas allows an excellent blur effect to be achieved.

The slats are curved, resulting in an approximately round circular opening at all aperture settings. The lamella edges have been rounded off, which contributes to a sharper image. The FUJIFILM X bayonet takes full advantage of a mirrorless design. The short support dimension of only 17.7 mm enables a high resolution performance over the entire image area.
