Thanks to "Physically Based Rendering," lighting and reflections behave physically correctly and change based on the object's surface and viewing angle. These processes work dynamically, eliminating the need for pre-calculated graphical effects, and have been optimized for excellent performance. Furthermore, X-Plane 11 features a brand-new sound engine that delivers 3D surround sound with high-quality samples. This operates on a global scale, allowing each aircraft and object to integrate spatially into the scenery while considering the user's position. The sound engine is extensible and usable with add-ons. Additionally, the content of the world in X-Plane 11 has been significantly expanded. Numerous new aircraft with 3D cockpits and extensive documentation are available to the virtual pilot, along with over 3,000 airports featuring 3D buildings, static aircraft, and dynamic environments. The global scenery has been enhanced with new cities specifically for Europe and North America and updated based on Open Street Map data. The completely redesigned user interface now allows users to edit control settings, aircraft, airports, and weather options with a graphical preview. This thoughtful menu structure makes the simulator significantly more intuitive to operate.
