With the Aktiv 05 active monitor box, ESI introduces a speaker with very high sound quality and transparency. In its price range, the ESI Aktiv 05 is among the best nearfield monitors. The Aktiv 05 model is designed for use in project studios and features a 1-inch silk dome tweeter and a 5-inch woofer. The output power is 60 watts, covering a frequency range of 50-20,000 Hz. Compared to the successful predecessor model nEar 05, it has a new tweeter, improved suspension, and a completely new crossover (at 2.5 kHz). The combination of the woofer with the matching tweeter and crossover allows the ESI Aktiv 05 to achieve a faithful reproduction of sound.

On the back of the compact and fully magnetically shielded monitor box, there is an XLR and jack combo connection for balanced and unbalanced connections, as well as a control for adjusting the input level.
