The EMG 85 is a bit more sophisticated than its famous brother, the EMG 81. With its Alnico V magnets, it has a very muscular, rounded sound and delivers somewhat finer lead tones. This makes it more versatile, covering everything from blues to extreme metal. Although it is often used at the neck position, don't be fooled; it is a fantastic bridge pickup and pairs well with practically any other EMG humbucker. Color: black chrome.
