The EK-Quantum Velocity² ILM Replacement - 1700 replaces the integrated mounting mechanism (ILM) of the motherboard with a frame that enhances the structural rigidity of the socket, motherboard, and even the CPU. It is used for cooling with standard EK-Quantum Velocity² CPU water blocks, not with Direct Die models.

Better cooling without bending

Due to the shape of the CPU and the way the stock ILM clamps the CPU, Intel CPUs from the 12th and 13th generations tend to deform due to uneven pressure. The EK-Quantum Velocity² ILM Replacement prevents deformation or bending of the CPU and the surrounding area, improving cooling efficiency through more uniform pressure on the CPU.

As a result, the center that contains the CPU's heat source is no longer concave due to bending, allowing for better contact with the cooler and providing you with improved cooling results.
