Ducky molds the keycaps from two layers of plastic, ensuring that the key labeling remains clearly readable. A common criticism of mechanical keyboards is their bulkiness. The housing of the Ducky One 3 is flatter than that of its predecessors, relieving wrist strain in combination with the three-stage feet. To improve sound and typing feel, Ducky tested a total of 17 different rubber composites and selected the appropriate variant for the Q-Bounce pad. This is combined with an additional EVA foam layer to effectively dampen resonances during typing and hard keystrokes.
