Dörr Circular polarizing filter DHG 46mm
37 mm, Polarizing filterProduct details
A polarizing filter allows rays to pass through only from one direction. This prevents reflections on non-metallic surfaces such as water, glasses, or shop windows. In nature, reflected light rays can lead to dull colors and less vibrant images in landscape photography. With a polarizing filter, you can eliminate distracting reflections and enhance the color saturation of your shots.
Digital cameras are equipped with a CCD or CMOS image sensor that converts light into digital impulses. The sensor is highly sensitive and is protected by a filter glass. This glass is positioned directly in front of the chip and has a very reflective surface. As a result, some of the incoming light is reflected back by the filter glass. This light must then exit the lens in a straight line, which is ensured by the multi-layer coating of the lens.
When using a filter on the lens, not only must the front side of the filter be of high-quality coating, but the back side must also be. Otherwise, there is a risk of loss of contrast and brilliance, as well as blurriness. This is not necessary for filters used with analog cameras. Therefore, you should always use a Dörr Digital High Grade filter on your digital camera.
Very high-quality optical glass. Circular (required for all digital cameras and all SLR cameras with TTL metering). Slim filter mount - prevents vignetting in wide-angle shots. Filter mount made of black satin-finished metal - prevents reflections. Inner edges of the glass are blackened - prevents reflections. Front and back sides are 10-layer multi-coated - allows over 99.5% of light to pass through!.
