Digitus

Future-oriented standards and high-end quality for your network. The fiber optic network cables from Digitus are available in all common fiber classes and connector combinations. Each cable is individually packaged and includes a measurement protocol. Each patch cable contains one fiber for the transmit and receive channels, as well as connectors with ceramic ferrules and two-color strain reliefs for clear fiber identification. By default, the Ethernet LAN cables are available with LC, SC, or ST connectors. Due to the different connector combinations, no adapters are necessary. Duplex optical data connections of category OM3 achieve bandwidths of up to 10 gigabits per second, provided the total cable length does not exceed 100 meters. To achieve the full bandwidth, all components of the total cable (SFP modules, switches, etc.) must support the bandwidth and be technically soundly installed. The material of the fiber optic jacket is halogen-free according to EN 50267-2-3 (LSZH) and flame-retardant according to the IEC/EN 60332-1-2 standard.

Patch cable type

The cable type, describes the structure of a network cable. Fiber optic cables are suitable for distribution over longer distances (up to 80 km) and are resistant to interference. Copper cables can be used for distances up to 100 m and are cheaper to purchase.

Fibre type

The glazier type is divided into multi mode and single mode. Single mode cables are characterized by the higher possible bandwidth and greater distances that they can bridge. Multi Mode cables are easier to manufacture, offer simpler connection technology due to the larger core diameter and are used within buildings or floors.
