Product details

This is an IO expansion module based on the MCP23017 chip. The module can expand up to 16 IOs. It can be configured with 8 different I2C addresses, meaning you can connect up to 8 of these modules to the microcontroller, allowing for a maximum expansion of 128 IOs. The module features 2 groups of IO pins, GPIOA and GPIOB. Each group has 8 independent IO interfaces, and each IO interface can be set as an input, output, pull-up input (100KΩ pull-up resistor), interrupt, etc. Additionally, the module has 2 interrupt pins, IA and IB. IA is used to detect interrupts from the IO interfaces of GPIOA, while IB is used for interrupts from the IO interfaces of GPIOB. When a pin from GPIOA or GPIOB changes state, the corresponding IA or IB generates a high-level signal.

Features:

  • Expandable up to 128 I/O
  • Compatible with 3.3V and 5V
  • Switchable I2C address via selector switch
  • Multiple VCC and GND pins
