The new USB 2.0 virtual media SIP with CAC support is a high-resolution USB 2.0-based SIP that supports virtual media and smart cards/CAC. This SIP provides full speed (12 Mbps) throughput that allows the administrator to remotely install or patch software, saving valuable time. In addition, the USB 2.0/VM/CAC SIP also enables the multi-factor authentication required in secure environments. Like all Dell SIPs, it converts the keyboard, monitor, and mouse signals from a server and drives them through a single CAT5 cable, eliminating the typical KVM cable management headaches. The USB 2.0/VM/CAC SIP draws its power from the server and has a 'keep alive' capability that is designed to keep your server working properly with or without connectivity to the KVM switch. This product has been tested and validated on Dell systems to ensure it will work with your KVM switch. It is supported by Dell Technical Support when used with a Dell system.
