The CY4501 CCG1 Development Kit from Cypress Semiconductor is based on the CCG1 USB controller family with a Type-C connector (CYPD11xx). The kit is designed for the development of USB host and client systems that include a Type-C connector, as well as for EMCA cables. For USB Power Delivery (PD), the CCG1 host and client boards included in this kit can be configured as Downstream Facing Port (DFP), Upstream Facing Port (UFP), or Dual Role Port (DRP).

The CCG1 host board is used to emulate a Type-C USB port that would be present on a USB host, such as a tablet or laptop. The CCG1 client board is used to emulate a Type-C USB port that would be present on a USB peripheral device, such as a monitor or docking station. The CCG1 EMCA board is used to emulate a smart cable with an integrated Type-C controller at both ends.
