Iron-on transfer film for sublimation printing. Detail color: Green. Iron-on films for sublimation printing are not self-adhesive and are applied with a heat press at 205 °C. They enable smooth, seamless transfers that never wrinkle or peel.
Printable materials are generally any uncoated polyester fabrics, and to some extent, polyester blends with at least 65% polyester content. The higher the polyester content, the more brilliant the colors. Cotton cannot be directly sublimated. Ideally, the surface should be white or at least light. For hard goods, a flat surface is required.
Sublimation printing differs from heat transfer or vinyl applications, where artwork is attached to a base material with adhesive. Instead, an incompressible color transfer merges with the material itself, resulting in bright, beautiful, seamlessly smooth transfers that never flake, peel, wrinkle, or crack.
