The Cowon Plenue D3 is a compact, portable Hi-Res player, weighing just 103 grams, making it lightweight. It is powerful and capable of reproducing music in its full complexity. Thanks to its dual-DAC design, the sound quality of the Cowon Plenue D3 is exceptionally accurate. The extensive equalizer settings via JetEffect—a unique feature of Cowon—allow for precise sound tuning according to personal preferences, ensuring the highest level of listening enjoyment. The battery life is also impressive; with high-resolution FLAC files, the Plenue D3 can play music for up to 30 hours, and with MP3 files, even up to 45 hours.

The player features an unbalanced 3.5 mm and a balanced 2.5 mm headphone jack. Since the Plenue D3 includes a special headphone mode that increases output power, it can be used with power-hungry headphones without an additional amplifier, delivering a detailed, voluminous, and distortion-free sound, regardless of the volume level at which you listen to music.

Thanks to the physical buttons on the side of the device, one-handed operation is easy even without visual contact. The finely textured black casing with a silver aluminum top gives the Cowon Plenue D3 an elegant appearance. The internal storage of 64 GB provides ample space for music, and if needed, the storage can be expanded with microSD cards.
