The Cokin coupling ring allows for the attachment of a second filter holder, increasing the number of filters that can be combined. It is inserted into the front slot and is also particularly useful for changing the orientation of the square graduated, effect, stencil, and other special filters or multiple prisms inserted in the front filter holder.
