This passive adapter is a simple plug-and-play solution with a DisplayPort 1.2a input and an HDMI 1.4b output. It supports HD resolutions up to 4K (3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz) and is powered by the DisplayPort input device, allowing it to deliver high-quality audio and video to the connected display.

Note: If the input device supports DisplayPort in dual mode (also known as DP++), a passive adapter can be used, as the input device can perform the conversion. If the input device does not support DP++, an active adapter or converter must be used. Thunderbolt 2 ports support DP++ internally.
