The sound of an acoustic guitar is based on the complex interplay of the body, top, strings, and player. Most electro-acoustic guitars with standard piezo pickups located beneath the saddle are unable to reproduce the complexity of the generated resonances. The Boss AD-2 Acoustic Preamp utilizes sophisticated processing with numerous parameters to bring this detailed, natural sound to the stage live.

The Acoustic Resonance control simultaneously influences multiple parameters in the AD-2, allowing for an intuitive way to find the desired sound. The Acoustic Resonance effect analyzes the input signal at the moment of playing and reproduces the natural guitar sound using advanced calculations with astonishing results. The built-in Ambience effect gives your sound studio-quality reverb, adding spatial depth.

The AD-2 offers two outputs - an acoustic guitar amplifier can be connected via the OUTPUT jack, while a mixer or recording device can be connected through the LINE OUT (TRS). The reverb signal can be output either only through the OUTPUT jack or through both OUTPUT and LINE OUT. If low-frequency feedback occurs during a live performance, simply activating the notch filter will eliminate the problem in no time. A mute function is also built-in, which can be activated by holding the pedal for two seconds.
