38 Table LED Table Lamp by Bocci
38 is a surrealistic motivation, a renewed exploration of the manufacturing technology originally developed for an earlier project called 28. This technology involves air being blown into and out of the glass, which is temporarily heated and then cooled. In this project, the technology has been pushed to the limits of possibility. Large glass spheres are blown, and then a significant number of voids are randomly inserted, intentionally overlapping and colliding with each other. Some of these voids are deep enough to hold soil as well as succulents and cacti. Others are used as housings for lighting components.

38V can now also be used as a desk lamp. The glass sphere is placed on an elongated brass cylinder with an integrated dimming system. 38 took the manufacturing technology originally developed for 28 to its technical and material limits. A large glass sphere is blown with many random internal voids that intersect and collide in unpredictable ways.

The 38-V lamp can be used as a table lamp or as a decorative lamp, featuring an integrated dimming system housed within a sleek brass tube. The black fabric cord is semi-rigid and can be shaped to add form to the cord. At the bottom of the brass base, there is a small notch, allowing you to hang it on the wall as needed.
