Belux Babycloud-40 table lamp

The Babycloud-40 is part of the Cloud series by Frank Gehry and is already considered a classic in lighting design. Frank Gehry's table lamp features a voluminous yet delicate shade that resembles paper, with the invisible light source located at its center. The irregular, sculptural shape, marked by countless folds, creases, bulges, and dents, evokes the image of a fluffy fair-weather cloud. Hence the name of the table lamp - Babycloud-40. This also alludes to the poetic character of these creations, which, according to their creator, are meant to express "the feeling of freedom and eccentricity."

Homage to Isamo Noguchi
Gehry himself wants CLOUD to be understood as a tribute to Isamo Noguchi. After extensive research, a polyester fleece was refined multiple times, resembling a strong, slightly fibrous paper in both appearance and feel. This material is flexible, tear-resistant, age-resistant, and easy to clean, making it the ideal choice for Cloud.

Each lamp is unique
The durable high-tech material is malleable, making each lamp a one-of-a-kind piece. Each lamp is individually crafted. Only upon closer inspection does it become clear that the shade consists of several interlocking shell elements. Despite the similar design and basic shape, each lamp retains an individual touch in its details.

An award winner
Awarded the FX Design Award and the Good Design Award, the lighting family from Belux is equally regarded as a poetic light sculpture and a functional lamp.

Versatile application
