Journey:Freedom

As one of the most popular rock bands in the world, Journey continues to create new music and captivate audiences night after night in sold-out arenas worldwide. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018, Journey has 25 gold and platinum albums in their discography, including the fifteen million-selling Greatest Hits collection, and total sales of 80 million albums globally. Fifteen epic new original songs make up their first studio album since 2011, bringing back the grand scale of the band's greatest moments along with updated and new directions and sounds. Intended for the big stage, it began with humble beginnings. In 2020, as Covid swept across the globe, founding member Neal Schon, like the rest of us, was stuck at home. "During the pandemic, there wasn't much to do," he says. "I spent a lot of time in my little studio at home, learning how to play keyboards and looping. Some of those ideas ended up as songs. So it kind of came out of nowhere." Freedom will be the first album with new material released since Eclipse in 2011, and alongside long-time keyboardist and main songwriter Jonathan Cain and singer Arnel Pineda, another member has been recruited for the upcoming album - bassist Randy Jackson, who played on Journey's album Raised on Radio in 1986. "Freedom" - another milestone in the Journey legend.
