Azden is making one of its most popular microphones, the SGM-990 +i, ready for the mobile age and expanding the "+ i-Coustics" product line with smartphone and tablet-compatible products. The SGM-990, a 15 cm long mono shotgun microphone, demonstrates versatility by capturing sound from a distance of up to 10.5 meters directionally, meaning it picks up sound from one direction. It allows you to literally zoom into the sound source. For shorter distances, this "2-in-1" microphone records omnidirectionally, which means that desired sounds around the filmmaker's position are also captured. To ensure everything works effortlessly, both recording modes, known as directional and cardioid patterns, can be selected using a switch. This allows for crystal-clear sound recording under all acoustic conditions, with efficient noise reduction. A 3.5 mm jack with a coiled cable connects the microphone to the camera, enabling interference-free transmission.
