The Audix D4 is a lightweight and very compact instrument microphone that can be easily and quickly positioned on the instrument. With an extended frequency response of 40 Hz to 18 kHz and the ability to handle high sound pressure levels of up to 144 dB, the D4 is the top choice for capturing low-frequency and percussive instruments. This includes large rack toms, floor toms, cajons, djembes, kettle drums, Leslie cabinets (lower part), bass flutes, saxophones and baritone saxophones, trombones, clarinets, acoustic basses, electric bass cabinets, and even small kick drums.
