The AT-VM95 is the result of years of development work and accumulated experience, replacing the classic cartridges of the AT90 series such as the AT91 and AT95. The VM concept with two magnets has been used to achieve better channel separation. This type of construction was previously only found in the more exclusive series from Audio-Technica, making it a significant sonic advantage that even the entry-level series is equipped with this concept.
Elliptical stylus tip: One cannot overlook the fact that the stylus is one of the most important components of a cartridge. The material and shape of the stylus determine so much about the final result. The VM95EN features a nude tip, meaning that a larger diamond is directly mounted in the tubular aluminum cantilever. The diamond has an elliptical cut with a radius of 0.3 x 0.7 mil. Compared to a conical tip, the elliptical tip can better follow the shape of the record groove and thus perceive small variations, ultimately leading to a more detailed sound. The elliptical cut results in a larger vertical contact area in the record groove, and with a properly adjusted cartridge, there is less wear on both the stylus and the record.
Fixed threads: To simplify mounting and adjustment, the VM95 series features fixed threads, eliminating the need for nuts during installation.
Included accessories: Mounting screws, 8 mm – 2 pieces, mounting screws, 11 mm – 2 pieces, washers – 2 pieces.
