The Asus GeForce RTX 2070 ROG STRIX A8G is part of nVidia's 2000 series gaming graphics cards and serves as a link between high-end and mid-range options. It features a TU106 graphics chip with 2,304 CUDA cores. The chip is manufactured using a 12-nm FinFET process and is based on the "Turing" GPU architecture. It utilizes GDDR6 VRAM with a capacity of 8 GB. Additionally, ray tracing and tensor cores enable fantastic lighting and shadow effects. The graphics chip has a factory-set base clock of 1,410 MHz and a preconfigured boost clock of 1,620 MHz, which is automatically activated when the chip requires more power. The graphics card can also switch to OC mode via software, increasing the base clock to 1,410 MHz and the boost clock to 1,650 MHz. The GDDR6 video memory operates at a very fast 7,000 MHz (effectively 14,000 MHz), which is nearly 75 percent faster than its direct predecessor. The 8 GB VRAM capacity allows for gaming at 4K resolution or in virtual reality. A triple-fan design is used for cooling.
