Astell&Kern Kann Max

The KANN MAX from Astell&Kern offers a tremendously high output power in addition to an audiophile quad DAC design. The KANN MAX has four amplification stages and an output power of up to 15Vrms, which was previously only possible in stationary headphone amplifiers. The portable hi-res player KANN MAX is thus able to perfectly drive even the most demanding headphones. It is equipped with four ESS ES9038Q2M with flawless decoding capability and Astell&Kern's TERATON ALPHA audio technology and delivers a finely resolved, detailed sound that is highly true to life. The KANN MAX is compact, lightweight and can be used equally well on the road or at home. The power circuit has been redesigned several times, so that the player can provide up to 13 hours of music playback on one battery charge. To ensure that there is no unwanted noise despite ultra-high output power, Astell&Kern has developed a circuit design that reproduces sound with uncompromising clarity. In addition, an analog volume control was used to deliver a wide dynamic range without loss. To minimize contact noise at the output jacks, the headphone jacks were coated with a gold PVD coating instead of the rings that are usually used. In addition to 2.4 GHz WiFi for smooth streaming of music services like Tidal, Qobuz, Apple Music or Spotify, Bluetooth 5.0 with support for LDAC and aptX HD is available to provide audiophiles with high-quality sound even when listening wirelessly. Music files can be stored locally on the internal 64GB memory, and those who need more space can optionally use a microSD card. With the KANN MAX, Astell&Kern has aimed for the maximum. The proven concept of the KANN series has been adopted and the performance has been upgraded to such a high level that an amplifier performance common for stationary devices is provided in a superportable player.
