Silk Strap Japanese

The band made from silk braid is appreciated as a stylish accessory for traditional Japanese clothing. It is a sturdy yet skin-friendly piece, crafted by a renowned weaving workshop in Kyoto. The band is carefully sewn by experienced artisans.

For this braid, a wide braid called "Sasanami-gumi" is used. The "Sasanami pattern" is one of the representative kimono designs, also known as the "Michinaga pattern," because it was a favorite design of Michinaga Fujiwara, a powerful court noble of the Heian period. This traditional and distinctive Sasanami pattern, used as a high-quality decoration for kimonos, such as Obijime, is also utilized as a pattern for silk bands.

The leather and hand stitches that attach the strap to the camera are kept in a simple black to emphasize the unique design of the strap. It is not only pleasant against the skin, as only silk can be, but also moderately stretchy and can be wrapped around the hand. It is a piece that combines user-friendliness with a fashionable spirit.

This silk strap is available in two lengths: the shorter version is suitable for wearing around the neck or over the shoulder. Please note that it is a ring strap for cameras with eyelets and is not compatible with the eyelets of band cameras.
