Mezzachimera Table Lamp by Artemide

The beautiful Mezzachimera table lamp by Artemide appears delicate and airy. Yet, its form is very dynamic and lively. It is an elegant, unique eye-catcher that captivates the viewer while flattering them at the same time. The wavy shape of the lampshade enchants and creates a playfully light atmosphere. The material of the shade is made of methacrylate, which gives the light a muted glow and a soft white appearance. The base is painted white.

This table lamp was designed in 1969 by the designer Vico Magistretti.

Vico Magistretti was an Italian architect and industrial designer. He was born in Milan in 1920 and passed away in 2006, also in his birthplace. After studying architecture, he initially worked as an architect. His most famous buildings include the Santa Maria Nascente church in Milan, which he designed with Mario Tedeschi, a residential high-rise in Milan, the Torre al Parco, built with Franco Longoni, and the Casa Arosio in Arenzano. In the 1960s, he specialized in industrial design and produced numerous designs for renowned companies such as Rosenthal, Cassina, Artemide, and Asko. Dozens of his unique designs are part of the collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
