Latest Uno Revision R3 SMD Edition - Retail with Box and Arduino Sticker!
The SMD Edition is technically identical to the UNO.
The Arduino Uno R2 SMD is a microcontroller board based on the ATmega328. It features 14 digital I/O pins (6 of which can be used as PWM channels), 6 analog inputs, a 16 MHz crystal, a USB interface, a 6-pin ISP connector, and a reset button. It includes everything needed to get started; you can easily connect it to your PC via a USB cable or power it using an adapter/battery.
On the board, there is an ATmega16U2 microcontroller that serves as a USB-to-serial converter.
This new USB connection has a few technical innovations: the ATmega16U2 can also be reprogrammed, creating new application possibilities. The board can then be recognized by the computer as a keyboard, joystick, or MIDI interface.
Additionally, no driver is required anymore, and the board is recognized by the computer as "Arduino," as the boards now have their own USB ID.
