The Aegis Fortress has been tested and validated to meet the requirements of NIST FIPS 140-2 Level 2. It features a user-friendly keyboard that is certified dust and scratch resistant according to IP66, as well as integrated PIN authentication.

With AES-XTS 256-bit hardware encryption, the Aegis Fortress seamlessly encrypts all data on the drive in real-time, ensuring your data remains secure even when the hard drive is removed from the enclosure. Its software-free design allows the Aegis Fortress to be used immediately after unpacking—no software, no drivers, no updates. It can even be used without a keyboard. The Fortress is fully cross-platform compatible and can be used virtually anywhere—on PCs, Macs, Linux, or any operating system with a USB port and a file system.

With Apricorn's new Configurator/Powered Hub Bundle, you can create custom profiles and configure multiple Configurator-compatible Aegis devices simultaneously. All PIN entries and controls are made through the keyboard of the Aegis Fortress. No critical security parameters are passed to the host computer.
