Use your old MagSafe charger with the MagSafe 2 connector. The MagSafe 1 is adapted to the MagSafe 2 magnetic connector. With the Apple MagSafe to MagSafe 2 Converter, you can connect your old MagSafe power adapter to the newer MagSafe 2 interfaces. Simply plug the magnetic MagSafe connector into the adapter and charge your MacBook with the old charging cable. Please note that you should also use the same wattage for your MagSafe 2 device, as otherwise the charging speed may be reduced.
