Here’s how you can use your iPhone Lightning Dock:

Connect the dock to your computer using the USB cable (included with the iPhone) to sync and charge the iPhone. Connect the dock to a power outlet using the Apple USB Power Adapter (included with the iPhone) to charge the battery. Place your iPhone in the dock for particularly clear sound quality during hands-free calls. Connect active speakers or headphones with a 3.5 mm headphone jack to the dock and listen to music while syncing or charging.
