The Amplicomms BigTel 1202 is a cordless phone with a hands-free function and many comfort features for improved hearing and visibility (Duo set). The volume of the receiver can be adjusted up to a maximum of 30 dB, and it features a hearing aid-compatible receiver with an extra loud, adjustable ringtone that exceeds 80 dB. There are 10 different ringtones available on the handset, including 5 polyphonic options.

It includes visual and acoustic alerts for a low battery at the base, which can be adjusted to 5 volume levels and turned off. The extra-large dot-matrix LCD display measures 96x64 pixels and has 2 lines for numbers and letters, as well as 1 line for symbols, all with backlighting.

The illuminated keypad features an LED caller display available in 6 languages: German, English, French, Dutch, Spanish, and Italian. It complies with DECT and GAP standards and allows operation with up to 5 handsets per base number display (CLIP). The phone can store the last 15 incoming phone numbers and has a phonebook with up to 100 entries for names and numbers. It offers up to 100 hours of standby time and up to 10 hours of continuous talk time. Additionally, there are 2 direct dial memory keys on the handset (M1/M2), and it is capable of providing a paging function for locating the handset.
