Product details
The versatile AKG C214 condenser microphone is ideally suited for professional studio and live applications. Its excellent acoustics are based on the large diaphragm system of the C414. As an affordable alternative to the legendary reference microphone, the C214 features its globally appreciated dual-diaphragm capsule. The cardioid polar pattern results from the capsule design with a single diaphragm. The switchable 20 dB pad and low-cut filter allow for the recording of loud instruments such as drums, guitar amplifiers, or brass instruments. When used in pairs, the C214 is perfect for stereo arrangements in choir and classical recordings. The ultra-low-noise electronics deliver high dynamics (143 dB) with maximum sound pressure peaks of up to 156 dB SPL and minimal noise.
The integrated elastic capsule suspension protects against footstep noise. A double-mesh grille of the microphone basket ensures optimal shielding against electromagnetic interference and mechanical impacts without affecting the sound. The C214 is extremely robust and handles the toughest demands in studio and stage environments with ease. Its scratch-resistant surface keeps it looking great for a long time.
With this condenser microphone, you achieve a particularly precise representation of sound for neutral, lifelike recordings. It captures even the smallest sound pressure levels, resulting in excellent sensitivity, especially in the high frequency range.
This microphone features a cardioid polar pattern, meaning it picks up sound best from directly in front. It minimally registers sound coming from the back or sides, and this polar pattern also reduces unwanted feedback.
